John 1:9 says that “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive….” This alone states the importance of confession. God already knows our sins, because He knows our thought before they are conceived, yet He expects us to confess those sins for Him to forgive and to cleanse us. This means that hidden sins can be a significant obstacle to our progress in different ways. With concealed sins, there is a barrier between us and God, making our prayer difficult to reach Him (Isa 59:2). When we confess our sins, we are sure of God’s forgiveness because He has assured us of that. Have you ever felt like God has not forgiven you? It could be you have not confessed. Though God does not depend on our confession to forgive us, confession is for our own personal peace
Reflection
Confession is acknowledging your sins.
Prayer
Thank God for his willingness to always forgive your sins.
