There are lies the world believe in. One of which is approval lies, doing things just to be approved. such that when this does not happen you feel rejected and disqualified. Human heart loves praises and these inclinations are not bad. Matthew tells us that God wants us to use the inclination to seek His praise and approval, not the praise and approval of men. Yes, the praise and approval of men are good, but they should not be what guides our lives. He wants us to live, “for an audience of one.” When you give, pray, or fast, do it for the approval and praise of God alone. Make it a personal commitment to live for an audience of one. If your life is guided by the desire to please Him alone, you will get His approval all the time and make Him very happy too.
