God wants you to give Him what He has given you. Everything God gives you and I are meant to help us worship Him. If He hasn’t given you something yet, then He does not expect that thing from you. Paul tells us in our passage that “if the readiness is there, then it is acceptable.” It is for this reason that he goes on to say that, give “according to what a person has, not according to what a person does not have.” This means that you do not need to amass a certain amount of wealth before you can start supporting church ministry, giving some financial support to the orphanage or taking care of a family member’s child, etc. What do you have in your hand now, give as God expects of you. The only question you need to ask yourself and answer is, “Do I have the readiness?”
