Content
Corinth was a place where idol worship and sexual immorality was widespread. It seemed difficult for the new converts to shake off these old habits. In 1 Corinthians chapter 5, Apostle Paul handles the issue of sexual immorality that was tolerated and it was defiling the church. And to fight this evil, he taught that love does not enjoy or delight in such actions, rather true love finds joy in truth and righteousness. This same evil that was ravaging the church in Corinth then is high in the church today. People don’t seem to find fault with such evil practices. God who is love can never be comfortable in wrongdoing. So joy in wrongdoing is the absence of God in that individual.
Reflection
The mark of true love grieves in wrongdoing.
Prayer
Pray for grace to not rejoice in wrongdoing as a loving child of God.
