Paul offers you a powerful remedy for anxiety: prayer. The passage contains both a remedy for anxiety and the means to endless joy. When you bring your worries to God through prayer, anxiety gives way to peace. God's peace takes root in your heart. Prayer is a key avenue for experiencing the peace of God. Instead of holding on to anxiety, you are called to release it by making your request known to God. Instead of you trying to solve your problems, you must release the problems to the God who owns and runs the universe. When that happens, a peace that surpasses knowledge comes into your heart. That peace gives you the ability to rejoice in the Lord who has saved and in whom you have put all your trust.
Reflection
The word of God always gives us the right instructions for a good life. An anxiety-filled life is not a good life. Paul gives us the guide to an anxiety-free life in this passage. If you want to live an anxiety-free life, you must be a person who trusts God. You must trust God that he is good, kind, and able to take care of you. When you trust God to be all these for you, you will not hesitate to bring the things that make you anxious to him.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gift of prayer and the peace that comes through it. I surrender my worries to You, trusting that You will take care of them.
