In 1 Thessalonians 4:5-6, we are reminded that Christians should be masters of their own bodies. Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit, and it’s necessary to avoid sexual immorality. This passage teaches us that Christians must not give in to the passions of the flesh. The “passions of lust” lead people to sin, but Christians are called to avoid these temptations by mastering themselves. This means exercising self-discipline and avoiding any behavior that could lead to immorality. Self-control is key to living a life that honors God in the area of sexual purity. To master yourself, start by being mindful of the areas where you are most tempted. Avoid situations that expose you to sexual temptation and practice self-discipline in your thoughts and actions.
Reflection
Self-control is vital to avoiding sexual immorality.
Prayer
Pray for the ability to practice self-control and to resist the temptations that come your way. Pray for the CBC: Ask God to provide all the necessary resources for the Men's project at Mile 3 and for the men of the CBC to wholeheartedly embrace this project.
