It is true that we can forgive someone even when they have not confessed. The forgiveness we give is dependent on our relationship with God and for our mental wellness. Even though God is merciful and compassionate, and His mercy is not limited to human action or responses (Ex 33:19), more assurance of His mercy comes from the Scripture that whoever confesses and forsakes his sins will obtain mercy (Pro 28:13b; 1 Jn 1:9b). In human context mercy is granted easily when we are willing to acknowledge and confess our sins. The kind of confession that attracts God’s mercy is not just verbal confession but that which leads to genuine repentance and renouncing of sins. We must be determined and motivated to confess our sins and what should motivate us most is the fear of God.
Reflection
Be certain you are forgiven.
Prayer
Ask God for grace to be sincere in confessing your sins. Pray for the CBC: Trust in God's provision for those who seek physical healing in CBC health facilities and pray that they may also find spiritual healing during their visits.
