Content
Anxiety arises from a lack of contentment. God has blessed us with many things for which we should be thankful and satisfied. However, we often do not feel this way because we desire more. Paul learned to be content and thankful in every situation, whether in times of abundance or need. His secret to peace and contentment was his full trust in Christ. He believed that the Jesus who gave up his life for him was able to take care of him. As long as he had Christ, he had all he needed. When we trust in God's provision and are satisfied with what we have, we can experience peace regardless of our situation. Contentment is a source of peace. It comes from the confidence that God knows, is able, provides, and will continue to meet all our needs. Therefore, a content person's peace does not depend on material possessions but on the God they serve and their trust in His faithfulness.
Reflection
The natural result of contentment is peace in the heart. The constant desire for more naturally leads to anxiety. We must be very contented with the things God has given us and trust him to give us what we need.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for providing for my needs. Help me to be content in every situation and find peace in Your provision.
