Abraham’s servant is on a mission to look for a wife for the master’s son, Isaac. He prays, trusting the God of His master to reveal the right wife through acts of hospitality. This happened exactly as he prayed. Rebecca’s gesture highlights that true hospitality exceeds mere obligation; it comes from a place of genuine kindness and generosity. She showed kindness to a total stranger without expecting anything in return. Her actions served as an example of how the open-hearted can create bonds that lead to divine purposes. Rebecca’s hospitality reflects a culture where relationships are built through sharing and caring for strangers. This is a subtle reminder that our willingness to serve others can align with a larger purpose of God for our lives, taking us to our destinies. Let’s keep away skepticism and be opened hearted, kind and generous to those that come our way.
Reflection
We do not attach expectations to hospitality.
Prayer
Ask God to take away suspicion and give you wisdom so that you can freely offer hospitality. Pray for CBC: Pray for a great collaboration between the CBCYSD and the CBCMD.
