Proverbs 10:12 begins by indicating the effect of hatred. For hatred to stir up strife means, a man whose heart is full of hatred against his neighbor, will provoke contentions and quarrels. Such quarrel can be energized by believing wrong stories, lies, spreading false reports and slanders. But love covers all sins. Love covers the sins of others in imitation of the love of God that forgives and covers all the sins of His people with the blood and righteousness of His Son. By not dwelling on but letting go the offense of someone is seeking love above hatred. Take effort to promote love by letting it cover the wrongs of those you care about. This is not compromising your faith but standing true in love.
