In the midst of false teachers promoted by people who call themselves “men of God,” we can be tempted to pray hell for them if we truly understand the effects of their teaching on the souls of men. But Scripture does not give us the freedom to hate them. We are to keep ourselves in the love of God so that we can love these sinning brethren but hate their sinful deeds. Jude says we should be merciful to them, hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh. This means that our evangelism should characterized by mercy baked in the loved of God and a healthy hatred of sin. Have you been struggling to relate with a person because of his/her sinful life style, maybe you have developed hatred for some. We are challenged to love them but hate their sins because Jesus loved us while were still sinners (Rom 5:8).
Reflection
Love should motivate evangelism.
Prayer
Ask God to quicken your heart with love for sinners and hatred for their sins.
