Sometimes we think we can bribe God to look the other way from sin because we have given him money. Those who do not have money might be very active in the church so that He will look the other way because of their service. Both groups of people are offering vain offerings. God does not delight in such offerings. God does not receive gifts from unrepentant sinners. He did not take pleasure in Israel’s sacrifices from sinful hearts because it was abomination to Him. If you want your gifts to be acceptable to God, then you must cast aside the sins that are controlling your life. Jesus who conquered sin on the cross is available to help you. All you need to do in your daily fight against sin is to ask Him for help.
Reflection
Offering from unrepentant hearts is vain.
Prayer
Suggestion for prayer: Ask Jesus to help you conquer sin so that your gift will be accepted by God.
