The devil pushed Adam and Eve into disobedience by asking them, “did God really say” and this question has remained the driving force behind every act of disobedience ever since. Sin is disobedience born from a mistrust in God’s intentions and wisdom. When God told Saul to destroy everything in the land of the Amalekites, Saul thought God was making a mistake. His actions are a classic display of, “did God really say?” His thinking led to disobedience. He thought God would be more pleased with an offering than obedience. God wants His people to live in obedience before Him. NOTHING they GIVE to Him or DO for Him will ever substitute for obedience. Stop questioning God’s word and start obeying it.

God delights in obedience.

Suggestion for prayer: Ask God to stir in your heart obedience just like Jesus was.
