Content
The flesh, with its sinful nature, leads us into temptation, but the Holy Spirit provides the strength and guidance to live in victory. The Holy Spirit not only convicts us of sin but empowers us to overcome it. Paul contrasts the desires of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit. While the flesh leads to sin and death, the Holy Spirit leads us to righteousness and life. When we walk by the Spirit, we are able to resist the desires of the flesh and live in alignment with God's will. Take time today to intentionally invite the Holy Spirit into your life, asking Him to empower you to resist temptation and live a life of purity. Cultivate a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit by seeking His guidance through prayer and Scripture.
Reflection
The Holy Spirit empowers us to resist the desires of the flesh.
Prayer
Pray for the Holy Spirit’s help to overcome the desires of the flesh. Ask Him to fill you with His power to resist temptation and to help you live in obedience to God’s Word.
