No ungodliness will go unpunished. The reason every ungodliness will be punished is that people know the truth but suppress it because everything to be known about God is made plain. God Himself reveals Himself to man. Even His qualities that cannot be seen with the physical eye have been clearly understand from His work of creation. The revelation of Jesus did not end at creation, but it is constant in everyday society and life. The word of God is also proclaimed daily using different mediums. Why would you be destroyed in the wrath of God when you have an opportunity to be saved? We therefore, don’t have any excuse for not worshipping Him. We must flee from the revealed wrath, and turn to Him in repentance. Thank God He does not cast anyone a way but receives any who comes to him in true repentance.
Reflection
This passage reminds us that God has made Himself known to everyone through creation, His Word, and the daily ways He reveals truth, so no one can claim they never had a chance to know Him. Because of this, ungodliness carries real consequences, not out of cruelty, but because people choose to ignore the truth God has already shown. Yet the message is full of hope: God’s desire is not to destroy but to save, and He welcomes anyone who turns to Him with a sincere heart. Instead of remaining under judgment, we are invited to run to His mercy, repent, and receive the grace He freely offers.
Prayer
Cry to God in repentance and He will save you from all your sins.
