We have the general inclination to treat people the way they treat us. We make sure we always exercise retributive justice. Ephesians 2:1-10 shows us that our father acts differently. All human beings once walked in disobedience and open rebellion to God. If God wanted to give people His retributive justice, then He would have wiped out all of humanity. Instead of doing that He showed mercy to undeserving sinners. He came to people who hated Him and lived in open rebellion towards Him. He sought reconciliation by dying for people who hated Him. He showed mercy and offered salvation to all men by grace. Be an imitator of God in the way you treat people. Be quick to forgive and eager to seek reconciliation.
Reflection
Money cannot buy salvation because it is the gift of grace.
Prayer
Suggestion for prayer: Trust God to not hate people who hate you.
