The Shunammite woman showed hospitality to Elisha the prophet of God by inviting him to stay for a meal, recognizing him as the man of God. To further demonstrate their hospitality, the woman and her husband built a room for him. Her kindness is repaid with a son. God answering Elisha’s prayers and blessing the woman with a son is testimony of God’s concern for the needs of His people. At the same time, faith and obedience are needed for experiencing God’s blessing. This suggests that hospitality is an act of faith, not because we have enough to spare. We must honor God by being hospitable to His servants and children, lifting up our eyes to Him to meet our practical needs. Grow in your faith by being kind and compassion to the people that come your way because God is going to meet your needs.
Reflection
God’s ways will always marvel us.
Prayer
