Zacchaeus did not welcome Jesus under any form of pressure. Though Jesus ordered him to come down from the tree because He would eat in his house, Zacchaeus did it joyfully. Scripture urges us to do whatever tasks we find ourselves in without grumbling (Phil 2:14). This means that if we have an opportunity to welcome people into our home in whatever condition, we should do so without grumbling. Oftentimes, people request to spend some time with us as they journey to another place. Sometimes the church would want some Christians to host fellow Christians during church programs, whereby Christians come from other places. These are opportunities to receive the blessings of hospitality. It should be noted that the joy with which we receive people is the measure of how God blesses our homes.
Reflection
Joy comes from knowing Jesus Christ.
Prayer
Trust God to be joyful when receiving strangers. Pray for CBC: Thank God for the 3 H ministry, trust God that more girls will be won to Christ through this ministry.
