Job gives an account of his life of integrity before all men. And not just as it was in the eastern culture but his moral acts of righteousness, he did not suffer any stranger who came under his notice to lodge in the street, but, like Abraham went out to him, and invited him in, to partake of his hospitality (Gen 18:2-8). Job’s act of kindness did not limit to his family, friends and domestic servants but to the one that was unknown to him. He demonstrated God’s love and nature in his care for others. Do we claim to be righteous yet treat those under our roofs poorly, neglect those we see frustrated on our streets? It might not be easy in our days to take anyone to our homes, but we should trust in the protection of God in this service.
Reflection
Express your righteousness in care for strangers.
Prayer
Pray that God will help you march your righteousness with acts of kindness.
