Someone has said "dress how you want to be addressed." What you wear says a lot about you. In the text, Paul tells Christians what they ought to wear to show the world that their hearts have subjected to the Holy Spirit of through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. a) A Christian has a holy heart meaning a heart that is striving toward become more like Christ and unlike the world. Such a heart loves holy heavenly things and hates earthly unholy things. b) A Christian has a beloved heart meaning he or her puts the interest of others before his or her own. A beloved heart is other centered not self centered. c) A Christian has a compassionate heart meaning a heart that makes every ever to care for those who are facing tough times in life. Instead of just writing them a message online and posting a suffering person on social media, a Christian sets apart time to be there in person. The list includes other virtues like kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. It ends with some interesting words. A person who is clothe in these virtues find it easy to bear with the shortcomings of another Christian. Remember that bearing with means, instead of trying to change another person, you have to learn with live them the way they are as long as they are not sinning. in addition to these virtues growing the ability in you to bear with others, they also make it possible for you to forgive people who sin against you. We have all received forgiveness from God through the Savior Jesus Christ. Hence, we must be motivated by that to forgive. The forgiveness we give others should be as Christ has forgiven us. Christ did not forgive us when we were saints, but while we were still sinners, His forgiveness for us was sacrificial and His forgiveness is unending. We should therefore, learn from Jesus to forgive others in the same magnitude. To get to the place where you forgive like Christ, you have to grow in the virtues that characterized Christ and must characterize a Christian.
Reflection
You must not quantify the forgiveness you give because you cannot quantify that which you have received.
Prayer
Tell God how difficult it is to forgive, and be motivated by Him to do so.
