God himself has made a testimony concerning His son. He is the savior of the world and only those who believe in Him are sure of eternal life. With Christ in one’s life, you have that testimony. And frightening enough, anyone who rejects this testimony makes God a Liar. To deny the Son is to deny the Father. Such rejection or denial will not be excuse on the basis of ignorance. Yes, God created everyone in His image, but sin brought distortion of that image and to restore it, He gave His Son. Anyone who truly have life is one who has accepted the Son of God as Lord. If we humans can believe the testimony of men, why will we not believe the testimony of God concerning His son? Let us assume that the testimony of men is false but here we have God’s own testimony about His son, shall we also reject the testimony of God? Through these verses God is inviting us to believe in Jesus base on the testimony that He has said concerning His son. He is also inviting us to have faith based on facts from God. Christians are not just supposed to believe but they are to believe based on the facts from God’s word.
Reflection
This passage reminds us that God has already given a clear and trustworthy testimony about His Son, Jesus Christ—the only source of true and eternal life. If we readily accept the words of people, how much more should we trust what God Himself has declared? To believe in Christ is to accept God’s truth; to reject Him is to call God a liar, leaving no room for excuses. Though sin has distorted God’s image in us, He lovingly provided Jesus to restore what was lost. Our faith, therefore, isn’t blind—it is built on the solid foundation of God’s own Word. The invitation is simple yet profound: receive the Son, trust God’s testimony, and live in the life He freely gives.
Prayer
Pray that God will make this testimony clear to all who have not received Him.
